Academic Affairs is comprised of four primary units: Academic Personnel Office, Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Center for Innovations in Teaching and Learning, and Online Education. Academic Affairs also has significant responsibilities for academic planning, accreditation, faculty diversity, and strategic academic planning. We are an academic support division, providing assistance primarily to faculty and other academic support staff, but in some areas also to staff more generally, students, and the general public. We value our dedicated and high-functioning staff, the physical environment and natural resources of the campus, and our shared commitment to advancing the university’s mission.

Our vision is to operate with an affirmative model in supporting a learning experience for everyone, including our diverse campus, local community, nation and beyond. We support our campus faculty in their creation of knowledge and educational work. We work collaboratively, being innovative, adaptive, and sustainable.

Key overarching goals for our division are: supporting employee well-being, morale, and professional development; increasing collaboration and sharing of resources; and contributing to campus efforts for revenue generation. Individual, specialized units have additional goals pertaining to their unique missions.
