Introductory Session

- Discuss Leadership Academy objectives and expectations, while establishing community agreements
- Connect cohort participants, providing immediate opportunity to engage
- Reflect on alignment between organizational and personal values
- Develop insights on how other people think about and process the same information differently

- Identify personal leadership strengths and development opportunities through assessment and self-reflection
- Gain credibility by aligning personal values, university values and their behaviors
- Create and communicate a shared vision for the future
- Align individual and team behavior with strategic direction and foster shared accountability
- Opportunity to reflect on how to apply what they have learned to a current leadership challenge of their own
Friday, January 26 - 1:00-4:30 - Arboretum, Hort II
- Develop insights into how one’s career path has unfolded in service of generating skill set strengths
- Explore a “me and we” perspective created to allow for conscious living that considers both one’s individual lived experiences and an undeniable oneness with people across many backgrounds
- Convey executive presence by making one’s value visible with a clear, compelling, and concise one-minute professional narrative (to be performed at Graduation)

- Create a vision of who you are at your highest and best, to apply to your life now and as it changes
- Learn 6 simple body-mind practices to help you ground in the present moment, and approach issues with mindfulness and creativity
- Learn the Critical Moment Dialogue, to face “something’s up” moments and find new practical solutions to everyday challenges.

- Identify and practice techniques to help with identifying, responding, and intervening to microaggressions
- Reflect on concept of Alternative Leadership Styles

- Increase understanding of everyday negotiation opportunities for creative problem solving
- Explore the differences between positions and interests, and how to apply this framework when negotiating and problem solving

- Better understand the roles of leaders and sponsors during change
